In his thirty years of working with ceramics, Canadian artist Steven Bogue has been exploring and sharing the discipline and narrative of the potter's wheel through the lens of functional ceramics. His clarity of form is a reflection of the deep reverence to the process and it's history. The act of throwing cannot be separated from the object itself. Steven's singularity of focus to his discipline is not outside the arc of historical precedence. In the vein of classical ceramics he examines the push and pull between stability and change, the seemingly known and unsure, has never been more salient than it is today. HIs work is an affirmation to the physical world our communities have created and the ways in which we experience it.
